This 3-night, 4-day itinerary combines two of Madhya Pradesh's greatest draws — UNESCO-listed Khajuraho and Panna Tiger Reserve — into one seamless journey based at Nature's Lap Resort.
Arrive at Khajuraho Airport (HJR). Begin your exploration of the UNESCO World Heritage temples — the Western Group is the iconic centrepiece, while the Eastern and Southern Groups reward those with extra time. Lunch in Khajuraho town.
Drive 40 km (approximately 1 hour) to Nature's Lap Resort in Madla, arriving in time to settle in and watch the sun set over the forest.
Welcome bonfire at the resort. Dinner under the stars — your introduction to home-style Bundelkhandi cooking and the sounds of the forest at night.
Morning jeep safari at Panna Tiger Reserve, entering via Madla Gate — just 0.8 km from the resort. Track Bengal tigers, leopards, deer, and over 200 bird species through the reserve's forest trails and open meadows.
Return to resort for a hearty breakfast. Rest and enjoy the resort — swimming pool, machan, or simply sitting with a chai and the sounds of the forest.
Ken River boat ride — watching kingfishers dart, gharials sun on the banks, and the river reflecting the afternoon light. Option to also visit Pandav Falls or Raneh Falls (18 km) for a stunning geological wonder.
Bonfire and stargazing. In Panna, far from city light pollution, the night sky is genuinely spectacular.
Second morning safari — each safari brings a completely different experience. Different zones, different animals, different light. Many guests see their first tiger on Day 3.
Visit Brihaspati Kund (35 km) — a stunning natural waterfall and pool cascading through a gorge in the Vindhya hills, with emerald water and dramatic rocky cliffs. One of Madhya Pradesh's hidden gems.
Return to resort for lunch. Leisure afternoon — swimming pool, nature walk through the buffer zone, or birdwatching session with binoculars from the machan.
Cultural evening — guided walk through the nearby village, or an evening around the bonfire with local stories, chai, and the sounds of the night forest.
Final breakfast at the resort. Optional: one more morning safari if your departure schedule allows (check-out by 10 AM).
Depart via Khajuraho Airport (40 km, ~1 hour), or continue onward to Satna, Bhopal, or your next destination. We can arrange drop-off transport on request.
We can arrange airport and station pickup/drop-off — ask us for rates when you enquire.
No two trips need to be the same. We can extend this to 5 or 7 nights, add visits to the Panna Diamond Mines, include Ajaigarh Fort (a lesser-known gem), build it around a specific interest like birdwatching or photography, or combine it with a wedding or corporate event.
Just tell us who's coming, when, and what matters to you — we'll design the itinerary around your group.
